Beats, especially hip-hop beats, can be used in a lot of different ways. The usual place you'll find them is over the radio. Whether they're being sung by your favorite artist are danced to at the club, hip hop has a huge impact on your day to day life whether you realize it or not. Your peers most likely learned some of the more interesting words in their vocabulary from hip-hop music, and the girl or guy you like probably picked out their outfit for the day based on the hip-hop music video they saw the day before.
