Yesterday morning I made my way to Griffith Park for week 3 of marathon training with Team 2 End AIDS. Our pace group, the 10 minute mile folks, had to come up with a name so we decided to call ourselves Hang 10 … which is apt considering we are training to run the Honolulu Marathon :) Much of the rest of my day was pretty relaxing and last night, David and I finally got to hang out with dear friends we haven’t seen in ages!

To get us inspired for our upcoming marathon, the meeting area at the training location was all decked out with Hawai’ian themed stuff … and we each got lei’d, too :) Our 4 mile run was pretty decent, it was a great run for me so I had a blast. Remember, I’m soliciting donations for AIDS Project Los Angeles HERE so if you’d like to donate, please do so! I’ll mention this often … for the rest of the year so, be prepared ;)

Last night, David and I finally got to meet up and hang with Emma and Josh. We haven’t seen them since they got married 2 months ago. We met up for dinner at Upper West and just spent the whole time catching up with one another. It was really great to see them, they look fantastic.

Today, David and I have a couple of birthday parties to attend. First up, Neil is celebrating with an afternoon pool party. Later this evening, Adam is celebrating with a karaoke-fest. It should be a fun Sunday. Woot!

Another day, another intimate Garbage performance. I was invited by 98.7 FM here in LA to attend one of their Houseguest penthouse performances at the famed Hollywood Tower to see Garbage play a live acoustic set. Now, y’all know how much I love me some Garbage so I simply couldn’t turn down the invite. I met up with Darion and our friends Steph and Alec at The Hollywood Tower and snagged ourselves a prime location for the show. Check out some photos and video below.

The band only played a handful of songs but every track was performed acoustically. I have seen quite a few Garbage shows in my day but I’ve never been able to see the band play an acoustic set. They were just amazing. Here is video of the band performing their first ever single Vow:

Not only was the band amazing but so, too, was the location. The Hollywood Tower is one of those iconic buildings that really hearken back to the golden age of Tinsel Town. I’ve always wanted to visit … and yesterday’s performance was the perfect first visit. The views from the penthouse balcony are stunning. Everything about the event was perfect.

After the show, we made our way across the street to the 101 Coffee Shop for a bite to eat and that was my night. If you can believe it, Darion and I are making our way to Santa Barbara this afternoon for — yes — another Garbage performance. I know it may sound like things are getting out of hand but D and I figure we might as well enjoy the band while we can because they’ll be spending the entire Summer in Europe on tour. The trip to SB will be a quick one … we see the show then return home. I fly out to Detroit tomorrow afternoon so … bizzy bizzy bizzy.

It’s Friday, again! Can you believe it? It’s also June. The year is half over … oy!! Hope you have a great weekend!!

“I’m actually in preparation for a very incredible role,” the R&B star told BBC. “I’m in preparation later this year to play the role of Sugar Ray Leonard in a boxing film and it’s going to be incredible.” He has been in London recently, finishing up his album and in the ring training for the film, which focuses on the life of Panamanian boxer Roberto Durán. “This is going to be an incredible movie — in time an incredible story — and I’m really looking forward to that,” Usher said.

I am very keen to see how Usher does in the boxing biopic. It is no doubt going to pose considerable physical and mental challenges for him, but if he does well, he will do really well, in my opinion. De Niro is cast as famed trainer Ray Arcell and Gael Bernal will star as Durán. I am actually pretty excited about this one…

Next Sunday, May 13th, will be the series finale of the show that has been going for 8 years, aired over 200 episodes, and changed the way we view American housewives forever – it is the end of Desperate Housewives. The promo has been released for the 2-part series finale, which will feature the last two episodes of the ABC drama, Give Me the Blame and Finishing the Hat.It is hard to believe that the show is coming to an end, for good. Check out the promo, if you haven’t already seen it. Are you expecting a big bang for the series finale? How do you think it is going to end?

These ladies are going to be missed I think. The show has, of course, had it’s up and downs, but on the whole it has been an amazing run. The scandal, the drama, the ridiculousness, and of course the tears – I know I for one am going to be sad watching the finale on Sunday. Series’ finales are always poignant for me, because they conjure up the memories of watching those beginning episodes. This show does just that for me. Where were you eight years ago when you started watching the then new show about Wisteria Lane? Ah, yes, it gets me all emotional.

The sci-fi comedy has topped the Asian country's box office for a second weekend in a row with $19 million, just $9 million short of what the movie made domestically.

While America's response to the long-awaited sequel has only been moderate, the movie is a major blockbuster in the foreign market and has raked in nearly $275 million overseas in just two weeks!

It's impressive international run may soon come to an end though with the release of Ridley Scott's highly anticipated science fiction film Prometheus. An equally impressive cast and mysterious Alien element will definitely give MIBIII some stiff competition!

As you can see below, Maddy‘s VF coverphoto was shot during the promo video shoot for Truth or Dare by Madonna (and is likely an outtake photo from the fragrance shoot). The black and white photo is striking … check it out.

While I feel Maddy‘s hair is a bit too Margaret Thatcher circa 1984, I think it’s a very Madonna photo. As far as I know, the photos from inside the magazine have yet to be released but, again, it’s likely that those photos will also be outtake snaps from the Truth or Dare photoshoot. According to Nielsen, the 9pm premiere started with 1.4 million viewers, but by the second episode, which immediately followed, the number of those tuning in had incrased to 1.7 million!
