Yep, Megan Fox is pregnant. I know, I know. How many times have we heard this rumor, right? Well, several reports are suggesting that she really does have a bun in the oven. This will be the first child for the “Transformers” star and her husband, former 90210 star Brian Austin Green. Green has a 10-year-old son, Kassius, with his ex and former 90210 co-star, Vanessa Marcil. While E! Online reports that we’ll soon be seeing Fox rocking a baby bump, reps for the brunette bombshell have yet to confirm if she is in fact with child. Last month “Star” mag (I know, consider the source, but boy have they been right on the money with a lot of stories) first talked of Fox being preggers, with a source who apparently is in the know and close to Fox and Green told the magazine, “They just found out and are incredibly excited. At long last, I FINALLY got around to seeing the new Joss Whedon-produced, Drew Goddard-directed suspense thriller The Cabin in the Woods. As you may know, I’ve been CRAZY bizzy lately flying all over the US attending weddings in the past few weeks and this week — at long last — I get a few days to catch my breath. David and I have been really anxious to see Cabin so last night we decided to make it our date night event.

I managed to stay away from plot spoilers so I was pretty surprised by the film. The tagline is “You Think You Know the Story” and it’s the perfect tease. We’re initially supposed to assume the film is a run-of-the-mill slasher flick where teenagers get slaughtered in a remote cabin in the woods. Then, the movie trailers informed us that there is something more going on behind the scenes. BUT, none of that truly prepares you for what REALLY is going on in this film. I don’t want to spoil because I really think it works best when the audience is surprised … but I will say that The Cabin in the Woods is a truly Whedonesque film. It is the most Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel film that we have ever gotten from Whedon. The same humor, the same camp, the same metaphysical fun that we got from BtVS and Angel is showcased PERFECTLY in this new film. I was half expecting the word “hellmouth” to be uttered. And, in all honesty, I was a bit bummed that Wolfram & Hart wasn’t included in the story. Clearly, Whedon and Goddard wanted to tell a Buffy-like story without having any connection to the Buffyverse at all. From the very start of the film, before the movie title is splashed on screen, you get a good understanding for the way the film will turn out. I was beyond thrilled to see that Amy Acker is featured front and center. It was also really fun to see my boy Tom Lenk in the mix as well. I can understand how the folks who aren’t familiar with the genius of the Buffyverse might not get this film … but David loved it and he’s never watched a single episode of Buffy or Angel. The Cabin in the Woods is one of the best suspense films I’ve seen in a very long time. I honestly cannot wait to see it again. If I can get someone to go back with me, I’d see it repeatedly. I loved every single second of Cabin. I’m utterly convinced that Joss Whedon can do no wrong.

Blah. I am still feeling under the weather … my allergies are killing me, I have no energy … it’s really irritating me. I need to go for a run but I just don’t know if I can manage it. If I don’t run today, I’m running tomorrow … for sure. Tonight, I’m seeing The Dandy Warhols in concert so I’m excited for that but … ugh, all this phlegmy coughing is really bringing me down. Ugh. I hope YOUR Thursday is going much better ;)

Darion and I made our way to Las Vegas, NV early yesterday afternoon so that we could see Garbage in concert for the 4th time this week (yes, yes … a bit crazy, I know). To be honest, LV isn’t really my scene but I will happily make the trek into the desert to see my fave bands in concert. Only folks like Nine Inch Nails, Kylie Minogue and Garbage can ensure that I’ll make the trip. We spent our afternoon hanging out in the Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace and then it was TIME TO ROCK with Garbage! As usual, I managed to get some fun photos … which you can check out below.

Once again, Garbage changed up the setlist a bit and they sounded really fucking fantastic in the Pearl Theater at the Palms Hotel and Casino. I really love that venue because it’s big but not too big. The sound is big and they have jumbotrons — the better to see Shirley Manson even more close up than close up. I can’t even tell you how much fun Darion and I have had with the band in the last week. We’ve enjoyed personal interactions with the band and Shirley especially that mean so much to the both of us. Alas, this is our last show for a while. The band are heading farther East and then will be playing festivals in Europe before they return to SoCal in June (and beyond?). I’m certain the band will do more West Coast dates on the second leg of the tour so D and I are looking forward to more Garbage shows hopefully soon. For now, we can still look forward to the release of the band’s new album Not Your Kind of People, which hits stores on May 15. People, if Garbage are coming anywhere in your vague vicinity, you MUST see them LIVE in concert. Trust me … you will have the time of your LIFE!

Darion and I will be flying back to LA later today … but not before we enjoy a wee bit more of what Sin City has to offer. Here is just a sampling of some of the fabulous culture that exists here in LV:
