Verdi's opera "La Forza Del Destino" (The Power Of Destiny) is a love story between a lady by the name of Leonora (daughter of the Marquis of Calatrava) and a gentleman by the name of Alvaro, who happens to be a South American nobleman. Alvaro is also believed to be a half Indian from Peru though this is never really made clear at any point in the opera. As for the romance between Leonora and Alvaro, they are deeply in love like all couples in operas yet they just like the rest; are surrounded by trouble. Leonora's father the Marquis of Calatrava, being one who is strongly opposed to his daughter marrying any man he does not consider to be of the highest order.
